Definition:
Astangavaleha is a semisolid preparation which comprises of Katphala API Myrica nagi, Pauskara (Puskara API) Inula racemosa , Śrugi (Karkatasrngī API) Pistacia integerrima , Yamānī (Yavānī API) Trachyspermum ammi , Kāravī (Krsnajīraka API) Carum carvi , Śunthī API (Zingiber officinale) , Marīca API (Piper nigrum) , Pippalī API (Piper longum), Madhu API (Honey) , Ārdraka API (Svarasa) (Zingiber officinale)
Description:
A blackish brown coloured semisolid sticky paste, odour pleasant, taste bitter, astringent
and spicy.
Therapeutic uses:
Vātakaphajvara (fever due to vāta doşa and kapha doşa); Kāsa
(cough); Śvāsa (Dyspnoea); Aruci (tastelessness); Chardi (emesis).
Dose: 3 to 5 g daily in divided doses.
